Why I Built This Quiet Corner for You

Hello, everyone! And THANK YOU for visiting my site. Let me tell you a little something about me. I’m a clinical pharmacist, and besides my day job of helping patients heal and thrive, my three favorite things in the world are morning coffee, contemplating whether to read, and morning coffee while actually attempting to read.

But who has the time, right?

For most of my life, I never finished a single classic book. I always thought they were too dense, too lengthy, and honestly, too difficult to finish.

And like so many busy women, I was constantly juggling work, motherhood, and the endless daily demands—leaving little time or energy for the slow, quiet act of reading.

So instead, I opted for binging TV shows. I had subscriptions to pretty much all the streaming services, and for a while, this felt like the perfect solution for my exhausted evenings.

After some time though, I noticed that while binging movies and shows filled those precious hours after everyone was asleep, it always left me feeling strangely hollow and depleted at the end of each day.

That’s when I found myself drawn back to books. This time, I decided to start small so the whole endeavor wouldn’t feel overwhelming or intimidating.

Just ten gentle minutes with the words. Then ten minutes the next morning. And the next. Something surprising and wonderful happened: my mind felt clearer. My focus sharpened. I was calmer, more grounded—and oddly, genuinely happier.

You might wonder why I chose to restart my reading journey with these old, classic stories. I suppose it’s because I’m an old soul at heart. There was something about their language that called to me—the way each sentence was lovingly crafted with such intention and timeless beauty.

I found myself connecting with voices that had been speaking across centuries, sharing wisdom and wonder that felt as relevant today as it did generations ago. And it struck me as tragic that these beautifully crafted stories might not be passed down to future generations, that this exquisite language could fade into forgotten corners of dusty libraries.

I realized I wasn’t just reading old books. I was training my restless mind to slow down, pay attention, and return to itself. As a pharmacist, I’ve always been passionate about wellness and healing, but I never imagined that the simple act of daily reading could be so remarkably powerful for brain health and mental clarity.

That’s why I created Stillth & Story: to make reading feel effortless and joyful again. To help women like me reclaim focus and rediscover wonder through these beautifully curated literary gems—one small, quiet daily reading at a time.

I choose to remain anonymous, not because I’m hiding—but because I want the spotlight to stay on the words themselves, on these voices that deserve to be heard and cherished. I don’t need a stage. I’d rather be the quiet, encouraging voice behind the curtain, gently guiding your return to reading and helping preserve these literary treasures.

Stillth & Story isn’t about me—it’s about you, your relationship with your mind, your time, and the stories that nourish both heart and soul.

These aren’t just books. They’re tools for building a stronger, healthier mind and bridges connecting us to the very best of human expression.

Welcome to your new reading ritual. I’m so deeply glad you’re here.

Love,

Quiet Creator of Stillth & Story
